The scale

See it before you decide.

Tap the glass to take the film off and put it back.

A simulation. How it really looks depends on your own glass and the light that day — and on what the law allows for each window.

Before you choose In California the law sets a limit for each window. Ask first.

VC §26708.5(a) “No person shall place, install, affix, or apply any transparent material upon the windshield, or side or rear windows, of any motor vehicle if the material alters the color or reduces the light transmittance…, except as provided in subdivision (b), (c), or (d) of Section 26708.”

VC §26708(c) “Transparent material may be installed… to the topmost portion of the windshield [if] the bottom edge of the material is at least 29 inches above the undepressed driver's seat.”

VC §26708(d) “[Clear material on the windows] located to the immediate left and right of the front seat [is permitted if it has] a minimum visible light transmittance of 88 percent [and meets Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 205 including] the specified minimum light transmittance of 70 percent.”

This is the text of the code, from the state's own source. It is not legal advice: what can be done on your car is a question for the shop.

Got ?

Start with what bothers you.

Most people come in for one thing. Tap the one that sounds like your car.

It's an oven in here.

Film cuts the heat and the glare before they reach you. How dark it goes is your choice — and the law sets a limit for each window.

Window tinting
People can see everything on my back seat.

The darker levels are the ones people pick for privacy. Which windows can go that dark is a question for the shop, not for a website.

Window tinting
My radio is from another decade.

A new head unit goes into the opening the car already has. Nothing else about the car changes.

Car stereo
My phone doesn't talk to my car.

Apple CarPlay puts your maps, your calls and your music on a screen in the dash — in the car you already own.

Screens & Apple CarPlay
It sounds thin.

Speakers, an amplifier, or a box built for the shape of your car — depending on where the sound is getting lost.

Sound system
I can't see behind me.

A reversing camera shows on the same screen the phone uses. If there is no screen in there yet, that is the same job.

Backup cameras
I don't like leaving it parked on the street.

An alarm wired in behind the dash, not taped under it. A dash cam as well, if you want a record of what happens around it.

Security
A window or a lock stopped working.

Power windows, door locks, and the wiring behind them. This one is a repair rather than an upgrade — call and describe it.

Auto electric (408) 591-8095

None of these yours? Say it in your own words and you still get an answer.

What we do

Five things, all under one roof.

Less heat, less glare, less fading. Every window, or just the ones you want — cut to your car, not to a template.

One visit

They came in for one thing.

And asked about a second one while the car was already there. It is not a package and there is nothing to take: some of these simply touch each other.

“They helped me choose the perfect tint for my needs, and the security system they installed has given me so much peace of mind. The team really cares about their customers!”

  • Window tint Security

Two of the reviews on this page describe this pair.

  • Screen Backup camera

    They share a screen.

  • Alarm Dash cam

Both are about the car when nobody is in it.

Ask about one, and ask about the other. What each one costs is for the shop to say, because they are the ones looking at the car.

We work on

And Mercedes-Benz, Lexus and Dodge too. They are the brands on our own card.

What people say

A hundred and sixty times.

Great price, quality work. Had my 16’ Charger R/T done and will be back for more vehicles. Thank you Hugo and your team!

The work

Some cars are here for an afternoon. Some stay for months.

Two of them, on the day these photos were taken.

The wood dashboard of a 1976 Triumph, with a modern head unit fitted in the console
Recently finished

A 1976 Triumph TR6

Original wood dash, original gauges, a new top — and a modern head unit in the console, where the old one used to be. The car is fifty years old. What you reach for is not.

In the shop now

An early-eighties Toyota pickup

Freshly painted, and the dash is open. This is what the wiring looks like before anything goes back in — the part nobody photographs, and the part that decides whether it lasts.

And the ones that came out of here

Three finished cars, outside the shop. Tap a photo to hold it.

Ask

Tell us what you drive and we'll tell you what it costs.

There is no price list here because there is not one: every car has its own glass, its own windows and its own condition, and each is quoted on its own. Pick below and the message writes itself.

What only the shop knows

This page invents nothing. Two things are not published anywhere reliable, and a phone call answers both:

  • Which film and which alarm brands they carry.
  • How long a car takes, and whether you wait or leave it.

On The Map — sample site, not commissioned — reference photos, yours go in their place
